Project 365 – Day Two Hundred and Seventy Three – Rotten Romans

day 273

This was one of Michelle’s Christmas presents, the board game of Rotten Romans, based upon the Horrible Histories series of books. Here we see the gladiators attempting to escape the confines of the Colosseum. They’ll have to pick up weapons and other supplies if they are to stand a chance of getting past the soldiers and making it all the way back to their home province.

Only a couple of problems with this board game. Firstly there appears to be no “weapons” resource space on the board. The gladiators are supposed to pass over these spaces to pick up the things they need. Secondly the movement spaces are very small and circular, and the playing pieces have larger oval shaped bases. I’m wondering whether we’ve missed something in the instructions regarding the acquisition of weapons.
