Project 365 – Day Two Hundred and Ninety Eight – Portrait in Marble

day 298

Having bought a few proper marbles yesterday (see Day Two Hundred and Ninety Two) I thought I’d give this one a try. Inspired by seeing various shots taken through larger glass balls over the years, and by seeing this blog post a few days ago (thanks to @KaveyF for tweeting about it).

I’ll be keeping at least one clear glass marble in my camera bag, they don’t add much weight or bulk after all. Hopefully I’ll remember to pull one out and shoot through it from time to time. I wonder what might be possible shooting through a row of a few of these?

    • Thank you both very much for taking a look. I’ll be trying to take more of these when I’m out and about as I like the idea of seeing landscapes through this.

    • Thanks for taking a look Snowgood. I didn’t know about “House of Marbles”, I’ll have to see if they have any better quality clear glass marbles, and maybe something just a little bit bigger. I meant to shoot a few more through the marble when I was out over the weekend, but forgot all about it. I was shooting around a ruined Elizabethan country house (Kirby Hall) and that might well have offered some interesting views to be seen through the marble.
