As I sit here typing this blog entry up, I have wonderful sunlight streaming in through the window of my “den”. However for much of the day the weather was abysmal – dull, grey and raining.
However, this crappy weather inspired me. Where better to go on a day with crappy weather than Abbey Pumping Station, a Leicester museum which was a steam powered sewage pumping station until 1964?
It is now the Leicester Museum of Science and Technology and houses a wide range of very interesting exhibits, although there is quite a collection of toilet related artefacts too – only to be expected.
Hosiery was a big Leicester and Leicestershire industry and my photo for today features Michelle having a go at using a hand powered sock knitting machine.
And miraculously I have taken, processed, uploaded and blogged my Project 365 shot for the day whilst it is still light outside. I can’t remember the last time that happened.
