I have a couple of days off from work to give myself a long weekend. The weather was kind to me today and amongst other things I managed to get down to Leicester University’s Botanic Gardens for the first time this year.
As I wandered around I spotted this large setting of purple flowers breaking through one of the lawns, but sadly the sun wasn’t out so I moved on elsewhere. When the sun finally did break from behind the clouds I dashed back to these flowers and took quite a few pictures of them, back lit.
There were two or three possibilities for “photo of the day” today, but this one won it because it helped me to feel that Spring had finally arrived.
